March 2025 WIP Challenge Update

How is it April already? So, in March, I edited and republished the paperback and ebook version of Surviving Voluntary Exile: How to Overcome Common Obstacles to Making a Successful Life Transition. I also added a hardcover and audio version. I hadn’t planned on making those last two versions of that book in March, but with the current situation in the US, I thought it could be a useful book to anyone thinking of making the switch to a new location, and I wanted to make it as easily accessible as possible.

Spring has come and I’ve been itching to work on some herb studies, so that’s what I’m going to do in April. I’d also like to keep editing the Healthcare book and adding anecdotes to the Insurrection book.

What are you writing?

WIP 2024 – December Results

December was kinda a blur. I know I did some writing, but I can’t pinpoint exactly which WIP I worked on. Maybe herb book 6, definitely La Yacata Insurrection, and even some fine-tuning of the next book in the Lupita series. I know I didn’t finish anything this month.

So, let’s look back at 2024’s progress (or lack thereof), shall we?

My January 2024 goal was to finish six books, one from each series. What I managed to get published was one new book and one compilation, which is a bit disappointing. Not that I’m not thrilled with these books, but I had hoped for a little more productivity this year. As that didn’t happen, I’ll need to rethink my writing goals for 2025.

WIP 2024-November Results

I’ll just have to admit to myself that I will NOT have another book finished this year. That doesn’t mean I won’t be writing in December. It just means I don’t expect to FINISH anything, which is a bit disappointing.

In November, my work schedule became saturated, although I still managed to complete more chapters on La Yacata Insurrection. As a side note, in case you aren’t aware, the first book in the series, La Yacata Revolution: How NOT to Buy a Piece of Heaven in Mexico, is FREE today. If you are curious about how I got embroiled in some complicated community advancement projects, well, that’s the book to start with.

As for December, I expect some downtime over the holidays, but that may be a fool’s dream since just when I think things are calming down, disaster strikes. Well, it is what it is. I also hope to reassess my writing goals for 2025 this month. I believe I set my sights too high this year. Stay tuned for those.
